A city-focused route can include Kumamoto Castle, Sakuranobaba Josaien and Suizenji Jojuen Garden. An Aso-area route is considered only when the terminal, road conditions and ship schedule provide enough time.
Cruise-port pickup and return planning
Cruise ships may use Kumamoto Port, Yatsushiro Port or another terminal, and driving times differ considerably. We confirm the berth and all-aboard time before calculating the usable sightseeing time and return buffer.

Frequently asked question
Is an Aso visit always possible?
No. Aso is farther from the ports and depends on the berth, weather, traffic and ship schedule. When it is not practical, we recommend a Kumamoto city route.
