Collection: Day Trips from Nagoya: Three Private Routes
For a first visit to Nagoya, city sights such as Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine can be explored by public transport. If you have another full day, compare these three private routes departing from a Nagoya city hotel. Each route is booked separately; do not plan to cover all three in one day.
Which day trip from Nagoya should you choose?
- Shirakawa-go and Hida Takayama: For traditional villages, old streets and mountain scenery. The sample charter is about 10 hours. Shirakawa-go has no train station, so public transport involves a bus.
- Inuyama Castle and Magome-juku: For a castle town and a Nakasendo post town in one day. Inuyama alone is accessible by Meitetsu train; adding Magome requires planning train and bus connections.
- Ise Grand Shrine and Meoto Iwa: For shrine visits and coastal views, with time at Oharaimachi and Okage Yokocho. Public transport is possible by Kintetsu train to Ise and local bus.
Public transport or a private car?
Trains and buses may cost less for a single stop. For families or groups visiting several places, a private car offers pickup from your Nagoya hotel and stops arranged around the confirmed itinerary. All three products include a vehicle and driver, but no accompanying guide, meals or attraction tickets. Check each product below for vehicle options, price, duration and possible extra charges.
